The short version

Idlefell needs very little about you to work. You start as a guest with no name, email or password. We keep your save game on our server so it isn't lost, and we count game events and collect crash reports so we can tune the balance and fix bugs. We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and you can delete everything from inside the game.

Who we are

Idlefell is made by EC Digital Limited, the data controller for the game ("we", "us"). Questions about this policy go to ecdigitalsoftware@gmail.com.

What we collect

WhatWhy
A random account IDCreated on first launch so your guest save belongs to you. It isn't linked to your name or device identity.
Your save gameLevels, items, quests and timers, stored on our server so your hero survives a reinstall or a new phone.
Your usernameIf you choose one. It's shown in the game and must be unique.
Apple or Google sign-inOnly if you link one. We receive a stable account identifier from Apple or Google, and an email address if they share it (Apple lets you hide yours). We use it to restore your save on another device. We never see your password.
Game and app usage eventsThings like "trip started", "level up", "screen viewed", "app opened", with your account ID, username, whether you're a member, and basic device and app-version details. We use these to fix bugs and balance the game.
Crash reportsIf the app crashes or hits an error, it sends a report with your account ID, the error and where in the code it happened, and basic device, operating-system and app-version details. We use these to find and fix bugs.
PurchasesIf you become a member, payment is handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play. Your account ID and purchase records (which membership, when it started and renews) pass through our purchase provider so your membership follows your hero across devices. We only learn that your membership is active, never your card details.

We don't collect your location, contacts, photos, health data or advertising identifiers, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run the game. They process data on our behalf and aren't allowed to use it for their own purposes.

We don't sell or rent personal data, and we don't share it with advertisers. We may disclose data if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and save for as long as you have an account. Usage events are kept for up to two years so we can compare balance changes over time. Crash reports are deleted automatically after 90 days. Purchase records are kept by RevenueCat, Apple and Google as long as needed for billing, refunds and tax. If you delete your account, your save, username and sign-in links are removed from our database straight away.

Deleting your account

If you've signed in with Apple or Google, open Settings → Account → Delete account in the game. This permanently removes your hero, save and linked sign-ins. If you signed in with Apple, we also ask Apple to revoke Idlefell's access to your Apple ID. A guest account holds no name or email; uninstalling the game abandons it, or email us with your username and we'll delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including the UK, EU and California), you can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it. Email us and we'll respond within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on contract to run your account and save, and on our legitimate interest in improving the game for usage events and crash reports.

Children

Idlefell isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.

Security and transfers

Data is sent over encrypted connections and your sign-in token is kept in your phone's secure keychain. Our providers may store data outside your country; where that happens, we rely on standard safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the game.
